SIOTSU
しお津
SIOTSU, a Japanese restaurant in Suminoe Ward, serves fine, springy udon and a limited-quantity rice bowl topped with domestic pork fillet cutlet. At lunch, choose from udon and set meals; in the evening, small plates and hot-pot courses are also available.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
For fine, springy udon, start with the meat-topped bukkake udon at SIOTSU. Diners have remarked on the noodles’ firm bite despite their slender shape, and one review praised the well-seasoned meat topping. Other options include meat udon and meat-and-grated-yam bukkake udon, as well as dishes with grated yam, tempura or curry, so there are plenty of combinations to choose from.
Another lunchtime highlight is the limited-quantity pork fillet cutlet rice bowl. Visitors have praised its domestic pork fillet, the dashi-seasoned egg topping, the tender meat and the generous number of cutlets. It is also available as a set with a mini udon or mini curry udon. Choose the meat bukkake udon when you want noodles to take centre stage, or a set when you fancy a rice bowl as well.
In the evening, the menu extends beyond udon to small plates and hot-pot courses. The yosenabe, soy-milk hot pot and lettuce shabu-shabu hot pot with oil-cake bits each come with three appetisers and an assortment of three kinds of sashimi; finish with udon or rice porridge. Reservations are possible for a meal around the hot pot, and are recommended for dinner. From lunchtime udon and the limited-quantity cutlet bowl to evening hot pots, SIOTSU offers options for different occasions.
